A chance encounter between La Folie’s Sanjana Patel and Bonfiction’s Akhil Grandhi at CHOCOA 2024 has resulted in this limited edition bar. A night spent roaming the bylanes of the Red Light District in Amsterdam, the two chocolate makers stumbled across a brass piece of art embedded into the stone pavement. Crafted by an anonymous artist and known as Borstplaat or Breastplate in English, the work is an homage to Amsterdam’s many sex workers. 

Coincidently, both La Folie and Bonfiction are celebrated ‘Love is love’ this Valentine’s Day and stumbling across this sculpture has cemented our philosophy of inclusivity, acceptability, and harmonious coexistence. Through complete serendipity, this bar is an ode to La Folie and Bonfiction’s shared love for self love. We hope the art, the mystery artist and our craft chocolate makes you believe that love is love, in all forms.
